About UKI
Founded in 1995 the UK Industry website is now well established with many visitors worldwide.
UKI originally started life as a resource to encourage UK businesses to take the then-new internet phenomenon seriously. Creating original web sites for many UK customers (for example Makita (UK), Rocol, Guhring (UK), Ambersil, Mitutoyo), we helped UK business to steal a march on other countries.
Today, now under the sponsorship of Lawson H.I.S. Ltd, the UKI site is being developed to encourage UK trade.
Projects currently under development include:
- Marketplace forums allowing UK businesses to showcase their products to overseas customers.
- A separate marketplace will allow non-UK suppliers to seek UK partners in import and export opportunities.
- UK Directory specifically for UK Industry. A bulk buy catalogue offering quantity and clearance deals from UK companies.
UKI continue to develop the hosting of manufactures catalogues, examples already in place are Bosch and Makita.

So, what's made in the UK these days? Well a surprising amount is the answer. The UK is still the sixth largest manufacturing country in the World with manufactured goods making up more than 40% of our exports.
